The Mel-Odie Clowns
If frozen yogurt sounds like a random way to pay the bills, how about the job of a clown? These are such fun memories to look back on. We were the Mel-Odie clowns. I was Mel. I was the balloon animal artist and good at pretending to know how to juggle. I was not so good at pretending to know how to tap dance (tap dance lessons for sure deserves a post all of its own) but clowns can get away with a lot, cause well, you know, they're clowns. We got some great gigs for being the young and amateur, high school entrepreneurs that we were, and we made some good money during these years too. The funniest event by far, I'd have to say, was the surf contest we were invited to. It was a rainy, rainy day. Rain doesn't do great things for rainbow eyebrows. But clown skills like I've got tucked away....great things to have for a rainy day! Maybe. Okay, not likely. At least not without my sidekick. Sure miss this girl!

You make me want to start recording more memories. Eating fish, kicking pebbles all the way to school, broken bones and tooth fairies...i mean feather duster fairies. It's fun to read your reminiscing.
