L.A. Gears and Lot's Wife

While looking back on my memories is fun to do,  I try hard to LEARN from my past, not to LONG for it.  But there is one exception.  THESE AWESOME SHOES!

Is it right about now that I should be worried about turning into a pillar of salt, because I really do wish I even knew how to go back.

Growing up I remember owning only three pairs of shoes at a time.  We had one pair for Sunday, a pair of school shoes that we would get to pick new each September, and a pair of play shoes, which were our last year's school shoes.

Rylee is two years old and owns three pairs of sandals.  Three pairs of sandals!    They all came from garage sales, which helps me justify the total insanity of it,  but I don't want a reason to justify because I don't want Rylee growing up thinking she needs it all.   As cute as they are, I really don't want to teach her she needs pink sandals to match the pink outfit and yellow sandals to match the yellow outfit, do I?  We sported our L.A. gears with ALL outfits and felt fabulous doing it!  I want to feel fabulous like THAT again, and I want my children to know that it is possible to feel THAT kind of fabulous........the unconcerned with what we are wearing (granted, as long as it covers the body and smells okay) and more aware of who we are becoming. kind. of. fabulous.

I remember that kind of fabulous. Feeling great with what you have. Not always wanting more, more, more! Seems the world has done a great job in leading us to believe more is better. I'm working on unlearning that!
