A birthday, melty beads, and M.C. Hammer pants

Tonight I was lucky enough to get to celebrate this girl's birthday with her.  We met in fifth grade.  Mrs. Swanson's class.  Talk about memories.  I was the new girl and my desk was right across from hers.  She still remembers what I wore that very first day we met.  I had some pretty unforgettable pin stripped M.C. Hammer pants that I'd pair with a vest.  So bummed I don't have a picture.  They were quite the pants.  Definitely my favorite outfit at the time, and proven to have made a lasting impression.  Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but too much fun it was to revisit so many happy times:  shark puppet shows, Yosemite, hamburger birthday cakes, Hudson's Grill, big ol' tub of grape licorice.  I love that we both ended up in this area with just a few miles between us.  More memories we get to make.

Russell was excited to make Jennifer a present and these little melty beads have been a favorite of his lately.  Remember these???  We were going for a key chain but we didn't think it'd be sturdy enough.  He thought a magnet would be an alright alternative.  I so love his enthusiasm for making things to share.
