My own version of the Thanksgiving Advent Calendar minus adorableness

This will be the last time I whine about this.  Promise.  So last year my mom and sister fell in love with the idea of the Thanksgiving Advent calendar that Pottery barn was selling.  The idea:  for each day in November there is a numbered pocket that gets filled with blank slips of paper, and each day in November each member of the family writes down something he or she is grateful for and slips it back into the pocket.  It's wonderful.  By the time Thanksgiving rolls around, you've got lots of full hearts and an adorable advent calendar just bursting at the seams with gratitude.  Everyone needs one of these hanging on a wall in their home, don't ya think?!  Anyway, because my mom and sister are amazingly crafty, they whipped out their own versions that turned out amazing.  I wish I had a picture.  They so blew Pottery Barn out of the water with the cuteness factor.  And I'm still having a hard time getting over the fact that I missed out on the party.  Sooooo....although adorable wall hangings do work wonders at helping to cultivate a grateful heart, I suppose I can do without and plaster my attitude of gratitude elsewhere!  Hmm... how 'bout the blog?!  :)   Maybe my mom and sister can write these down each day and slip them into their calendars at home for me.  Thanks guys!  :)

Funny, when I put the calendar up yesterday I thought, "This looks so easy - I should whip one up for Jessica." Then I remembered how DECEIVING it is and quickly put the thought out of my head. Until I forget what a pain it was to make, your blessings will be safe in the pockets on my wall. #1: done
