#6. I am thankful for...

I am thankful for the ability to hear. I definitley have those days when I'd like to turn it all off; the construction, the neighbor's parties, the whining. Noise can be so NOISY! But when I take the moments to sift through all of life's exhausting noise to find the beautiful sounds, I feel rejuvenated. Whenever I hear the crunching fall leaves, Rylee's sweet little singing, my four year old's half recite half sing attempts at words like "Evangelists" and "paradisaical," children's prayers, a beautiful oboe solo, the pitter-patter of rain, the song of a bird, "Yes, I know Heavenly Father loves me!"

We are from love. We are from marriage. We are from a baby in a baby carriage. We are from a blind date, a glad we're not blind date. We are from Provo, from Paso, from everywhere in the Middletown. We are from rainy days and Mondays and lots of first day of school days. We are from Winco and Walmart, from super soaking cottage cheese ceilings, from "Flip That House." We are from orange dream machine jambas and a protein boost for him please. From rainbow jell-o, Christmas jell-o, from it's a girl pink jell-o and from it's a boy blue jell-o. We are from yam puffs, veggie puffs, PuPPPs, and someday a puppy. We are from surfboards, snow boards, skateboards, motorized skateboards, wakeboards, ironing boards. We are from we don't know how to be bored. We are from fish in our trunk, from sushi nights out and KFC Christmas eves in. We are from bowling, a lot, from shooting pool and other things. We are from the Bob Jone's Trail, from trail mix, from mix matched socks, from shoes. We are from Donald's words of advice, from serving, from being served. We are from 1st Nephi 3:7, from faith, from family. We are from laughter. We are from love. We are from God.
