On Trio and Being Three

I am totally sold on Trio.   I guess not "sold" 'cause I have only purchased two sets, and buy one get one free with two additional five dollar off coupons at that!  They are a wee bit on the expensive side at normal retail price.  That's why we only have two.  Aren't you so proud, Marissa?!  I was shaking with excitement walking out of Kmart that afternoon .  I couldn't wait to open my new toys!  I have learned from having  young children that I spend as much time with their toys as they do so I'd better be excited about them.

Trio passes my test.  Weird name.  Cool toy.  Anyone know why these are called Trio?  I haven't been able to figure that one out.  Anyway, here is why I love Trio.  That "click."  It is strangely satisfying.  But my favorite part is that the kids play together with these really well.  Russell can build... and Rylee can't crumble, or destroy, or topple, or eat  swallow them.  When Trio comes out there are minimal tears.

Last night, however, was an exception.

I had bathed the kids and put them in their jammies.  I usually let them have one last hurrah with their toy of choice before bedtime.  Last night Russell picked Trio.  After a good thirty minutes of playing I told Russell it was time to "wrap" it up.  His eyes welled up with the biggest tears and it didn't take me long to realize what I had said.  I felt terrible.  No, Russell, your Trio aren't getting "wrapped" up to be given away.  The Trio are here to stay!

Well done my young apprentice! :)

I actually found the fireman set at Goodwill and put it together to make sure it had all the pieces...(it's missing a couple, luckily non-essential)...but I must admit, I had a hard time parting with them.

Those look like great fun. I'm going to have to add them to my "toy" collection.
