"For the strength of the hills we bless thee"

Here is beautiful Calistoga in really only about 1/1000 of it's glory because this picture doesn't do it even close to justice.  The beauty of this place has given me so much strength in the last few months.  It reminds me of what my mom used to say/sing about "The strength of the hills" and how it helped her when she was going to school in Provo...."thou hast made thy children mighty by the touch of the mountain sod."  I'm not sure what wine grape sod does in making one mighty but it seems to be working good for me.  Every time I come around this one last bend in the many bends we weave through over the hills and through the woods to get down from the mountain we're living on, I feel filled with strength and for a moment, MIGHTY.  A girl could do anything with views like this!  And for that, "we bless thee, our God, our father's (and certainly our mother's who taught us this song) God."  And happy mother's day.  And happy birthday to my dad.  We had it tough as kids when my dad's birthday would land on mother's day.  Actually, I think it just meant that my dad got potholders for his birthday.   I'm so grateful for parents who taught me where to find REAL strength.  It is because of them and their example of faith  that I'm already singing this hymn to my kids.  Russell tells me to stop singing sometimes...  sorry kid....I will NEVER...."I'll never, no never, I'll never, no never, I'll never, no never, no never forsake!"  :)
