We couldn't get Russell out of the car to eat his breakfast. So here we have him enjoying a Hodnett family tradition in his jeep. I don't know where the cold cereal and birthday thing got started but it works for us! We rarely got cold cereal growing up and if we did it was never the cereal that our friends had at
their houses. It was boring stuff like corn flakes. But when we had a birthday we got to pick out whatever cereal we wanted. Our brothers and sisters got to measure out their servings and then whatever was left of the box was all ours! (This may help explain why I have an unhealthy perspective about food and special moments and why I have a hard time with Ryan eating my leftovers from restaurants! When I write my name on the take out box it really does mean I intend to enjoy it later!) Anyway, I guess the cereal thing just carried on to Christmas with it being Jesus' birthday. Santa always left the mini boxes of cereal under the tree and through the morning as we'd open presents we'd munch away!
